As a young person, much of your life takes place in school. Far too many campuses rely on excessive disciplinary policies that meet youthful transgressions with suspensions, expulsions, and even arrest.

These responses disproportionately target Black youth. Black students are three times more likely to be suspended than their white peers. And for Black girls in particular, these discriminatory policies coupled with the adulification they experience robs them of their youth.

But, there are organizations and leaders who work tirelessly to create a more equitable, safe world for Black girls. EveryBlackGirl, Inc. is a 501c3 grassroots community based organization bringing awareness and solutions to issues impacting black girls in order to create a world where every Black girl can thrive.
