The 2025 Represent Justice Ambassadors Set to Showcase Their Films July 23 in Los Angeles
The 2025 cohort of the Represent Justice Ambassador Program, comprising ten system-impacted storytellers, created a powerful collection of short films, each offering a firsthand perspective on the justice system and the resilience of those affected by it. The 2025 Ambassadors will celebrate the completion of their film projects and the launch of their film impact campaigns on July 23, 2025, with a red-carpet-style showcase in Los Angeles, California.
The invite-only showcase brings together the 10 new filmmakers, alongside friends, family, the Represent Justice team, and peers in the justice reform space for an exclusive premiere of their film projects. After 12 months of training, production, and post-editing, it will be the first time the Ambassadors view each other’s films and speak publicly about their projects and their filmmaking process through panel discussions throughout the evening.
Each Ambassador film is a deeply personal, visually compelling story that explores an issue within the justice system, such as youth incarceration, the criminalization of trauma, the journey of reentry, and the healing power of community. Their stories challenge dominant narratives about the legal system and call for one that is rooted in dignity and transformation.
The showcase marks this cohort’s completion of the Represent Justice Ambassador Training Program, which equips formerly incarcerated leaders, activists and advocates with the creative and technical skills to produce, message test, and nationally distribute short films for systemic change. It also marks the next stage in their journey with the organization as filmmakers: the launch of their impact campaigns, officially commencing in August.
