Juneteenth Reminds Us That Freedom Comes From Community Building
We celebrate the resilience, courage, and determination of Black communities who carried freedom forward even when it was denied to them. We celebrate the generations of people who refused to surrender their humanity, who cared for one another in the face of injustice, and who built pathways to liberation long before the nation recognized their freedom. We are reminded that every expansion of liberty is a result of people choosing each other when institutions would not.
