About JUST MERCY
JUST MERCY embodies our mission of forgiveness and redemption for people who have been incarcerated, and demands a fair legal system, free of extreme sentences. Further, it underscores that one of our basic American rights—the right to meaningful counsel—is still dependent on access, all too often determined by who you are and where you live.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and based on the memoir of the same name that tells the powerful and thought-provoking story of young lawyer Bryan Stevenson and his historic battle for justice. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as Stevenson, Jamie Foxx as Walter McMillian and Brie Larson as Eva Ansley and follows them as they become embroiled in a labyrinth of legal and political maneuverings with the odds—and the system—stacked against them.
